The Sun and the Serpent

The Sun and the Serpent

Hamish Miller & Paul Broadhurst

The Sun and the Serpent charts the dowsing of The "St Michael Line ", one of the greatest leys in Great Britain.

"The Sun and the Serpent" is the account of Hamish Miller's dowsing of the Michael Line, and of the unexpected discoveries which were made in the process... for the "St Michael Line" is in fact the straight alignment created at the crossing points of two interwoven dowsable lines - the Michael Line and it's more feminine companion which Hamish named Mary.

The Michael Line follows the Beltane (May Day) sunrise alignment of high points and chapels dedicated to St Michael, while the Mary line follows the alignment of geographically lower ( yin ) sacred sites - holy wells and shrines which are dedicated to the earth Goddess and female saints.

The sites where the two alignments cross were found to be sites of especially powerful geomantic energy.

Hamish Miller, Paul Broadhurst followed the ley reight across England, from it's arrival on the SW coast of Cornwall to it's departure from the coast of East Anglia.

Paul Broadhurst's text is an evocative travelogue of their journey.

This book complements Hamish Miller and Paul Broadhursts' research of the serpentine Apollo alignment through Europe, as detailed in The Dance of the Dragon, and also Régor Mougeot's book in french La Vouivre : Un symbole universel.
